Bet on it - Robert Griffin III will pass for 3700 yards and 22 touchdowns

The gambling sharps expect a very Andy Dalton-type year from Robert Griffin III, and they expect a typical performance from Pierre Garçon. That expectation for Griffin is exciting; for Garçon, it's rather ho-hum.
Here is Bovada's 2012 projection for RG3 compared to Dalton's 2011 rookie performance for Cincinnati.

Fans would be happy today if they knew with certainty that RG3 would deliver that personal performance. Fans always have the right to change their expectations as the season unfolds. Griffin-mania assures they shall — in one direction or the other.
Redskins Hog Heaven shall be disappointed if Garçon merely performed at the over/under line of 975 yards and six touchdowns. Garçon has never delivered more than 947 yards, nor more than six TDs in any year. The Redskins hired him to be the No. 1 receiver. Garçon wowed us with his speed and yards after the catch during the preseason. We look for his 2102 stats to match the eyeball test we saw last month.
Santana Moss made the most of his shot at No. 1 wide-out when he joined the Redskins in 2005 by setting the franchise single-season receiving record with 1,483 yards and nine touchdowns. Unlike Garçon, Moss burst the 1,000-yard mark before joining the Redskins.
If I were a gambling man (I am not), I would take the over on Garçon's line. That is based on hope more than expectation. (My lawyer wants you to know that you'd be an idiot to bet real money on this advice alone. If you do and you lose the rent, you're on your own.)
The line on Moss, by the way, is 700 yards, five touchdpwns.

We do watch sports books because they reflect the expectation of those willing to put their money where their mouths are. The over-under is the line that draws an equal number of bets on both sides of the number. Call it the wisdom of the crowds; 50 million monkies can't be wrong.
